SOYO Live Art 28/06/2010

When I was first asked to do some live art I was initially worried that my style wouldn't fit the restraints of the event. Time was the largest restraint for me, my canvas work can take me up to two weeks rather than the 3hours allowed by an evening of live art, and this affected my choice of subject matter. The three previous sessions had included generic likenesses in a slight cartoon style because I thought a true realistic likeness would be a bit risky to try and complete in the time. With that said I thought it was time to give it a go and attempt a Star Wars piece featuring the unique features of Peter Cushing as Grand Moff Tarkin. I was really pleased with how this turned out, just need to push the shading a bit more in the future but it was a successful test that opens the door to other more specific character likenesses at upcoming live art events.

As always, big thanks to Matt @ SOYO
